VISITING BANDS AND CALLERS:

Wednesday 28 July: Z Train (Jonah Sidman on fiddle, Michael Friedman on piano, and Ross Harriss on sax, guitar, & whistle, from Oberlin Oh, New York, & Boston) with Vic Kelson calling.

Saturday 31 July: Our usual 5th Saturday dance will feature music by the Mean Lids (Matt Turino*, Ben Smith, and Miriam Larson from Urbana, with David Ernst calling. The dance will be from 8:00-11:00 pm at the Boys & Girls Club . Dancers are encouraged to bring a snack to share. If you bring a home-made snack, admission is free.

SUGAR HILL:

The 32d annual SUGAR HILL will be 27-29 August 2010 (the last weekend of August) at Camp Ransburg, just south of Bloomington on Lake Monroe. Registration forms can be downloaded from the Sugar Hill web page. As of this writing, bunk space in the air-conditioned cabins is still available. Basic registration for the whole week-end, including dancing and meals is only $35 if sent by 9 Aug. ($45 at the door.) Camping is free, cabin space is extra. Weekly Wednesday dances start with newcommer instruction at 8:00 pm. Dancing starts promptly at 8:15 pm and the last waltz is at 10:30 or so.
Saturday (and Friday) dances start promptly at 8:00pm and last until 11:00 or so.
New-comer Instruction 15 minutes before the start of the dances. First time dancers are encouraged to come in time for this free instruction.
Dances are at Harmony School unless otherwise noted. This July & August we'll be at the Boys & Girls Club, 311 S. Lincoln (just south of Third St.).
Admission is $3 for members and $4 for non-members, unless otherwise noted. Memberships are $12/year, pro-rated by the month. Discount for seniors and students.
Volunteers are always welcome! Sign up with a dance coordinator for set-up or clean-up and admission is FREE!
